Porcupine Solo Trip: Hiking Mt Treskavca

Mt Treskavca, Bosnia and Herzegovina

While Alicia was away, busy gallivanting around northern Europe without me, I decided to join a hike organized by a local mountaineering club up Mt Treskavca, not far south of Sarajevo.  It was from here the Serb forces began preparations for the four-year siege of Sarajevo in the early 90s, and a few remnants of that staging remain littered throughout the area.

Round trip, the hike lasted six or seven hours and presented a moderate to difficult ascent (and worth every step).  I’ll let the below pictures speak for the beauty of the hike.
